Meaning and importance (5.1). Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease (WHO, 1948). Wellness transcends the absence of disease - it is the active process of realising one's fullest potential across all dimensions of life. Physical fitness is the capacity to carry out daily tasks with vigour, without undue fatigue and with energy to spare. Exercise is planned, fitness-aimed movement; physical activity is any movement that raises energy expenditure. Regular physical activity brings physical, mental, social, health and even financial benefits.

Components / dimensions (5.2). Wellness has seven components - physical, emotional, mental, social, environmental, occupational and spiritual. Health has four dimensions - physical, mental, social and emotional. Physical fitness has two families: health-related (muscular endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, body composition) and skill-related (reaction time, power, balance, speed, agility, coordination).

Traditional sports and regional games (5.3). India's indigenous games - Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Gilli Danda, Mallakhamb, Kalarippayattu, polo and others - are an accessible, low-cost, culturally rooted means of promoting wellness, valuable in physical, social, psychological and emotional aspects.

Leadership (5.4). Leadership is the art of motivating a group towards a common goal. A good leader shows honesty, delegation, communication, confidence, commitment, accountability, enthusiasm, focus, the ability to inspire and responsibility.
