Cookie Policy
1. The Short Version
ConceptFirst uses essential cookies, plus analytics (Google Analytics),Google Ads (to measure and improve our own ad campaigns), and — on the free and trial tiers only — advertising cookies from Google (Google Ad Manager / AdSense) and other ad partners that serve and measure the ads shown there. Paid subscribers see no ads and get none of these advertising cookies. In the EU, UK, and Switzerland analytics and advertising cookies stay off unless you opt in; elsewhere they are on by default and you can opt out any time. A consent banner appears on your first visit, and you can change your choices any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. We never sell your data.
2. What We Actually Use
- Strictly necessary cookies: authentication and session cookies set by Clerk (our sign-in provider) so you stay signed in securely, plus security/anti-abuse cookies. During payment, theRazorpay checkout window sets cookies needed to process the transaction. These are required for the platform to work and cannot be switched off.
- Preference storage (localStorage, not cookies): your board/class picks, reading position, and similar study preferences are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us as tracking cookies. You can disable this in Cookie settings; those choices will then reset between visits.
- Consent record: your cookie choices themselves are stored locally so we don't re-ask on every visit.

4. Our Limits on Advertising
- Ads (and their advertising cookies) appear only on the free and trial tiers — paid subscribers get an entirely ad-free experience with none of these cookies.
- We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not give ad partners your name, email, or account identity — serving an ad is not the same as selling data.
- No behavioural tracking of students, and nothing personalised directed at children (India DPDP Act, 2023) — ads shown to anyone we know or suspect is a minor are contextual only (based on the page's subject), never personalised or used for remarketing.
- Analytics and advertising cookies follow the region-based default above and can be changed any time in Cookie settings.
5. Managing Your Choices
Open (also in the footer of every page) to review or change your consent at any time. You can additionally control cookies through your browser settings — though blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and checkout. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
