What ConceptFirst is, and what makes it different.
What is ConceptFirst?+
A concept-first learning platform for Indian board and competitive exams. Instead of just handing you the answer, every question page leads with the concept and the why behind the formula — then the worked solution, the methods, and the traps to avoid.
How is this different from other answer sites?+
Most sites give you the solution. ConceptFirst gives you understanding first: the idea, why a particular formula applies, multiple methods (and a legitimate shortcut where one exists), the common mistakes students actually make, and how the concept maps to previous-year questions.
Are there video lectures or live classes?+
No — and we say this upfront, everywhere, including at checkout before you pay. ConceptFirst is a self-study platform: structured written concept explanations, worked solutions, previous-year papers and practice tests that you work through at your own pace. If you want video lectures or live coaching, this is honestly not that product.
How do I know the solutions are correct?+
Correctness is the whole product, not an afterthought. We keep extracted facts (curriculum, real questions, previous-year papers) strictly separate from generated explanations. The explanations, worked solutions and methods are written by AI, grounded in those extracted facts and reviewed before publishing — never invented from nothing. We never publish a solution to a question whose text we could not faithfully reconstruct; we hold it back instead of guessing.
I found a wrong answer or a typo — how do I report it?+
Tell us directly — use the contact form under "Product support" with the question link and what looks off. We investigate genuine errors and fix them; a specific report from you is the fastest way to get something corrected.
Report an issue →Are the testimonials on your site real?+
Yes, always — real, consented student stories only. We would rather show fewer genuine ones than a single fabricated or inflated quote. The testimonials page goes live as students share verified feedback.
What is actually live right now?+
CBSE Class 11 and Class 12 are live across the Science, Commerce and Arts streams — Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, English and more — with real set-wise board papers. We now cover 29 boards in all (CBSE plus 28 state boards) and 13 competitive exams end-to-end (JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, CUET, CA Foundation, KCET, AP EAPCET, TG EAPCET, MHT-CET, KEAM, WBJEE, COMEDK UGET, GUJCET). Coverage grows continuously, so the Boards and Exams pages — not this list — always show exactly what is live today.
Browse Boards →Which boards, classes and exams are covered.
Which boards and exams do you cover?+
The goal is all of India, and it grows every week. Today we cover 29 boards — CBSE plus 28 state boards — and 13 competitive exams end-to-end (JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, CUET, CA Foundation, KCET, AP EAPCET, TG EAPCET, MHT-CET, KEAM, WBJEE, COMEDK UGET, GUJCET), with JEE, NEET and CUET practice too. We publish a board, subject or exam only when its content is real, never as a placeholder — so the live list is always shown on the Boards and Exams pages and updates automatically.
Browse the catalog →When will my subject, board or exam be added?+
We roll out subject by subject and exam by exam, only when the content is real. Because the coverage list on the Boards and Exams pages is generated from the live catalog, it always reflects the current state — anything still being built is clearly marked, and it flips to live automatically the moment it is published.
See what is live →Are the previous-year questions (PYQs) real?+
Yes. We use real board papers and official sample papers, shown year by year, and we display the exact years a concept appeared — never a coverage window we do not actually have.
See PYQs & papers →Do you cover JEE, NEET, CUET and the state CETs?+
Yes, in two honest ways. For state CETs (JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, CUET, CA Foundation, KCET, AP EAPCET, TG EAPCET, MHT-CET, KEAM, WBJEE, COMEDK UGET, GUJCET) we publish real previous-year papers, solved and checked against the official answer key. For the central exams — JEE, NEET and CUET — we build original, concept-aligned practice that mirrors the official pattern and weightage; these are our own questions, clearly labelled, never scraped or relabelled as past papers. Coverage for the central exams is still growing, so check the Exams page for what is live now.
Browse exams →What a question page gives you.
What does a question page actually show?+
In order: the question, the concept understanding, why this formula, and the step-by-step solution. Around it you get multiple methods, common mistakes, PYQ mapping, competitive-exam appearance, related questions on the same concept, and a print option.
What are Beginner Mode and Quick Revision Mode?+
Two ways to read the same content. Beginner Mode walks through the idea slowly and fully; Quick Revision Mode strips it to the essentials for fast pre-exam recall.
Is there an AI assistant?+
Yes — a contextual help chat scoped to the question or concept you are on. It is built to explain and unblock, not to do the thinking for you, and is part of the subscriber experience.
Can I bookmark questions and take notes?+
Yes. Save any question or concept and keep personal notes per question — both are managed from your dashboard, alongside your learning progress.
Real-exam simulation.
What kinds of mock tests are there?+
Full-length papers plus subject-wise and chapter-wise drills — for competitive exams (state CETs such as KCET, plus JEE, NEET and CUET as coverage grows). Board final exams are not simulated this way; a board doesn’t suit a timed, negative-marked format the way a CET does, so board prep is served through the regular question pages and previous-year papers instead. You get a timed interface with a question palette, mark-for-review, and auto-submit on timeout.
See what is live now →Can I try a mock test for free, without signing up?+
Yes. The first 10 questions of any chapter-wise paper are open right now, with real timing and real scoring, no sign-up needed. Full papers, attempt history and weak-concept analysis are part of the subscriber dashboard.
Try a mock test →Do the tests mirror the real exam?+
That is the point. Each paper is assembled to match the real pattern — section structure, number of questions, marks per question, negative marking, weightage and duration. These exam patterns are treated as facts: if a pattern is not known, we do not invent it.
How is scoring done?+
By the real marking scheme, including negative marks. You get accuracy, time-per-question and weak-concept analysis, with one-click jumps to the concept-first solution for every question you missed.
What it costs and what one plan unlocks.
How much does it cost?+
Plans run 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months, plus a custom length. Every plan is billed once for the full term, and the longer you go the lower the per-month rate. Any current discount is shown live on the pricing page — it never changes mid-checkout.
See all plans →Does one plan really cover everything?+
Yes for LMS content — a single subscription unlocks every board, grade and stream we publish, with no per-subject or per-board add-ons, and new content is covered automatically as we add it. The Mock-Exam Engine runs on the same subscription too (a few papers are free to try, the rest unlock with your plan) — it is not a separate purchase.
What can I try for free?+
The first questions of every chapter are completely free, and every locked question still shows a partial preview of its answer — so you can judge the depth and quality before paying anything.
What payment methods are supported?+
Payments run through Razorpay — UPI, cards and net banking, in INR. Every plan is billed once for the full term (nothing renews silently). GST at 18% is added on top of the plan price and shown live before you confirm, and a downloadable invoice (with the GST breakdown) lands in your dashboard with every order.
Do I have to agree to anything before paying?+
Do you offer institutional or school licensing?+
Not currently — ConceptFirst is built for individual students, one subscription per learner, not school or corporate seat licensing. If that ever changes, we will say so plainly here rather than leave it unanswered.
Gifting a subscription to someone else.
How does gifting work?+
Pick a plan (3 to 24 months) and pay in INR. You get a gift code instantly, and if you entered the recipient’s email we also email them the code (with your name on it). They enter it at /egift/redeem for full access — they never pay anything to redeem.
Gift a subscription →Does the gift code expire? When does the subscription start?+
The gift code itself does not expire — it can be redeemed whenever the recipient is ready. Importantly, the subscription clock only starts when they redeem, not when you buy, so no gifted time is lost waiting.
Is the recipient notified?+
Yes, if you provide their email at checkout — we email them the gift code with your name and your message, plus a redeem link, and a gentle reminder later if it is still unredeemed. If you leave the email blank, you get the code to share yourself however you like.
Do I (the gift giver) get notified?+
Yes. You get an immediate confirmation email with the gift code and your invoice, and a separate email letting you know when your recipient redeems the gift.
Can I get a refund on a gift?+
Gifts are not self-refundable from the dashboard — contact support and we’ll help. A gift qualifies if it’s still unredeemed within 14 days of your purchase, or (once redeemed) within 7 days of the recipient redeeming it and while they’re still under the usage cap. Only the payment-gateway processing fee is withheld; the GST is reversed and refunded — see the full Refund Policy.
Your access and our refund policy.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every new account gets a 14-day free trial with full access to the entire platform — all boards, subjects, previous-year papers and mock tests. No credit card is required to start, and nothing auto-charges. When the 14 days end your account simply reverts to the free tier (with free previews of every chapter) unless you choose to subscribe. Your notes, bookmarks and progress are kept either way.
What is the refund policy?+
It depends on how you started. If you took the 14-day free trial (every new account gets one), subscription purchases are final and non-refundable once placed — the trial is your risk-free evaluation window, so you only ever pay after exploring everything. If you subscribed without ever taking the free trial (e.g. an older account created before the trial existed), your first order is refundable within 7 days of purchase as long as you've engaged with fewer than 100 questions. Either way, narrow exceptions are always honoured: a genuine accidental or duplicate charge (reversed in full if you tell us within 48 hours and no additional content was used) and any case where access was not delivered. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected — see the full Refund Policy.
Full refund policy →Do subscriptions auto-renew?+
No — by default every plan is billed once, upfront, for the term you chose, and simply ends when it ends. We remind you before expiry so you can renew if you want to. If an optional auto-renew is offered at checkout, it is strictly opt-in, never pre-ticked, and cancellable anytime from your dashboard.
What happens to my bookmarks and notes when my subscription ends?+
Full access ends with your paid term, but your account, bookmarks and notes stay put — nothing is deleted. Renew (or start a new plan) any time and you pick up exactly where you left off. They are only removed if you delete your account.
Can I gift a subscription?+
Yes — eGift is live. You pay, the recipient gets a gift code and redeems it for full access without paying anything. Discount voucher codes are also applied right at checkout, and the invoice reflects the actual amount you paid. Like all purchases, gifts are non-refundable once redeemed; an unredeemed gift can be cancelled within 14 days of your purchase (only the payment-gateway processing fee is withheld).
Gift a subscription →On how many devices can I use my account?+
One active device at a time. Signing in on a new device moves your session there and signs the previous one out of active use — this protects paying students from account sharing. Your account and content are identical on whichever device you claim.
What about complimentary or scholarship access?+
A small number of users — reviewers, partners, scholarship grants — get free or time-boxed access issued directly by us, with no payment involved. It has no monetary value, so it sits outside the refund policy above; if you paid for your subscription, the standard no-refund policy applies to you (your 14-day free trial is your evaluation window) regardless of anyone else’s access.
Signing in and how your data is handled.
How do I sign in?+
With email or Google. Phone/WhatsApp OTP sign-in for Indian numbers is planned for later (it needs TRAI-compliant SMS), so email and Google are the ways in for now.
How is my data handled?+
Privacy by architecture: no raw personal data or secrets in our traces (categories and metadata only), and your data is never sold. Payment details are handled by Razorpay — we never store raw card numbers.
Privacy Policy →Do you track me with cookies or analytics?+
We use essential cookies only by default — sign-in, security and the payment window — plus privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics) if you opt in. Analytics stays off until you enable it in the consent banner, and is never used for ads or cross-site tracking. Change your choice anytime via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Cookie Policy →Does the AI Assistant have limits?+
Yes — fair-usage limits keep it fast and affordable for everyone (a small free daily allowance, a larger one for subscribers). It is scoped to the question or concept you are on, built to explain and unblock rather than to do the thinking for you.
Can I delete my account and data?+
Yes. You can request account and data deletion, and we remove your personal data after a short grace period, with a confirmation when it completes.
Contact us →Can students under 18 use ConceptFirst?+
Yes — many of our students are under 18. If you are under 18, use ConceptFirst with a parent or guardian involved: the account should be set up, and any purchase made, by an adult who accepts the Terms on the student’s behalf. We collect only the minimal data needed to run the platform, and we do not do behavioural tracking, profiling or ad-targeting of children. A testimonial from an under-18 student is published with a name or other identifying attribution only with the parent or guardian’s consent.
Privacy Policy →Who do I contact for a complaint or grievance?+
Email us and we’ll help — most billing and account issues resolve fastest that way, and refunds are self-service from your dashboard. For a formal grievance (consumer or data-protection), Pennam Ramesh is our Grievance Officer: we acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within a month.
Contact us →Can I use the dashboard without subscribing?+
Signing in gives you an account, and every new account gets full dashboard access during its 14-day free trial — progress, mock tests, billing and all. When the trial ends (or a paid plan later lapses) you keep read-only dashboard access for 14 days — your past progress, bookmarks, notes and results stay visible, though reading new gated content needs a subscription — after which the dashboard is paused (your data is kept, never deleted) until you subscribe. The public question pages still give every visitor a free taster.
See pricing →Is there a mobile app?+
No separate app to install — ConceptFirst is a responsive website that works fully in your phone, tablet or laptop browser, so there is nothing to download or update.
