Matter waves: wavelength λ=h/mv\lambda = h/mv (inversely proportional to momentum), and they are non-electromagnetic probability waves independent of charge.

Louis de Broglie proposed that a moving particle behaves like a wave, called a matter wave. Two of its important characteristics are:

Characteristic 1 — de Broglie wavelength. A particle of mass mm moving with velocity vv (momentum p=mvp = mv) has an associated wavelength

λ=hp=hmv,\lambda = \frac{h}{p} = \frac{h}{mv},

where hh is Planck's constant. Thus lighter or faster particles (larger momentum → smaller λ\lambda; smaller momentum → larger λ\lambda). Wave nature is significant only for very small particles like electrons.
