For an isolated sphere, C=4πε0RC = 4\pi\varepsilon_0 R; using R=9R = 9 cm gives C=10C = 10 pF (the charge value is not needed to find capacitance, since capacitance of an isolated conductor depends only on its geometry).

The capacitance of an isolated spherical conductor of radius RR is given by

C=4πε0R=R(14πε0)C = 4\pi\varepsilon_0 R = \dfrac{R}{\left(\dfrac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0}\right)}

Given 14πε0=9×109 N m2C−2\dfrac{1}{4\pi\varepsilon_0} = 9\times10^{9}\ \text{N m}^2\text{C}^{-2} and R=9 cm=0.09 mR = 9\ \text{cm} = 0.09\ \text{m}:

C=0.099×109=1×10−11 F=10 pFC = \dfrac{0.09}{9\times10^{9}} = 1\times10^{-11}\ \text{F} = 10\ \text{pF}
