In GSEB Class-12 Commerce, super profit is the amount by which a firm's actual (average) profit exceeds the normal profit expected on its capital employed.

Normal profit is what any similar business would ordinarily earn on the capital invested (Capital Employed × Normal Rate of Return). If a firm earns more than this, the surplus is called super profit and reflects the firm's goodwill-earning capacity.

Super Profit = Average (Actual) Profit − Normal Profit
