Liberalisation = removing government controls; globalisation = integrating with the world economy.

Liberalisation: It means the removal or relaxation of unnecessary government-imposed controls, licences and restrictions on the economy, so that market forces (demand and supply) can operate more freely. In India it included the abolition of industrial licensing, financial-sector reforms, tax reforms and freer trade.

Globalisation: It means integrating the national economy with the world economy — allowing freer movement of goods, services, capital, technology and labour across borders. Measures included lower tariffs, removal of import restrictions, encouragement of foreign direct and portfolio investment, and making the rupee convertible on the current account.
