Capacitance is a capacitor's ability to store charge per unit potential difference; here two 5 μF capacitors in parallel (=10 μF) combine in series with a 10 μF capacitor to give 5 μF.

Capacitance: The capacitance of a capacitor is the ratio of the charge QQ stored on either plate to the potential difference VV between the plates: C=Q/VC = Q/V. It measures the capacitor's ability to store electric charge (and hence energy) for a given voltage.

Given network: Two 5 μF capacitors are connected in parallel with each other between terminal A and an intermediate node; this parallel combination is then connected in series with a 10 μF capacitor to terminal B.
