P&L Account records indirect expenses/incomes to find net profit/loss, prepared right after the Trading Account.

Meaning: The Profit and Loss Account is a nominal account prepared, usually immediately after the Trading Account, for an accounting period. It begins with the Gross Profit (or Gross Loss) brought down from the Trading Account, and then records all indirect expenses (e.g. salaries, rent, office expenses, depreciation) on the debit side and all indirect incomes (e.g. interest received, commission, dividend) on the credit side.
