Amylose is linear/soluble, amylopectin is branched/insoluble; adenine, guanine (and cytosine) occur in both DNA and RNA; maltase hydrolyses maltose to glucose.

(a) Two differences between amylose and amylopectin:

AmyloseAmylopectin
Linear (unbranched) polymer of α-D-glucose joined by α-1,4 glycosidic linkages onlyBranched polymer — α-1,4 linkages in the chains and α-1,6 glycosidic linkages at the branch points
Water-soluble; makes up about 15–20% of starchWater-insoluble; makes up about 80–85% of starch

(b) Two nitrogenous bases common to both RNA and DNA: Adenine and Guanine (the purines). (Cytosine is also common to both; the base that differs is thymine in DNA vs uracil in RNA.) …
