factor a² − b² and use the fact 5 already divides one factor

Given aRbaRb, i.e. 5∣(a−b)5\mid(a-b).

a2−b2=(a−b)(a+b)a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b)

Since 5∣(a−b)5\mid(a-b), it follows that 55 divides the product (a−b)(a+b)=a2−b2(a-b)(a+b)=a^2-b^2.
