A small realisation loss of ₹450 arises mainly from writing off bad debts and the shortfall on stock; shared 5:3:2, it wipes out C's whole capital and more, so C has to pay in ₹40 — while A's Loan Account is repaid separately from Realisation.

Realisation Account

Dr side:

  • To Sundry Assets transferred (Furniture 50 + Stock 1,750 + Debtors 2,400 + Bills Receivable 300) = ₹4,500
  • To Bank A/c (Creditors paid) ₹2,750
  • To Bank A/c (Realisation expenses) ₹200
  • Total Dr = ₹7,450

Cr side:

  • By Sundry Creditors transferred ₹2,750
  • By B's Capital A/c (Furniture taken over at book value) ₹50
  • By Bank A/c (Debtors realised ₹2,200 + Bills Receivable ₹300 + Stock ₹1,700) = ₹4,200
  • By Loss on Realisation transferred to Capital A/cs (balancing figure) ₹450 (A ₹225, B ₹135, C ₹90, in ratio 5:3:2)
  • Total Cr = ₹7,450

(Debtors realised = 2,400 − 200 bad debts = ₹2,200.)

Partners' Capital Accounts

A: Cr Balance b/d ₹1,000; Dr Realisation Loss ₹225; Balance to be paid = ₹775

B: Cr Balance b/d ₹500; Dr Realisation Loss ₹135, Dr Furniture taken over ₹50; Balance to be paid = ₹315

C: Cr Balance b/d ₹50; Dr Realisation Loss ₹90; Balance = −₹40 (C must bring in ₹40, as his capital of ₹50 is less than his ₹90 loss share)
