Deduct each partner's sacrifice from their old share to get the new share, then express all three on a common denominator.

Old ratio of A and B = 7 : 5 (out of 12). C is admitted for 1/6th share, acquired as 1/24th from A and 1/8th from B.

A's new share = Old share − sacrifice = 7/12 − 1/24

Taking LCM 24: 7/12 = 14/24, so A's new share = 14/24 − 1/24 = 13/24

B's new share = 5/12 − 1/8

5/12 = 10/24, 1/8 = 3/24, so B's new share = 10/24 − 3/24 = 7/24
