Option (a): Excretory system of cockroach
The main excretory organs of the cockroach are the malpighian tubules — a large number (about 100-150) of thin, yellow, thread-like tubules that arise at the junction of the midgut and hindgut and lie free in the haemocoel (body cavity), bathed in haemolymph. They absorb nitrogenous waste products (mainly uric acid) from the surrounding haemolymph, convert them into a semi-solid/solid form, and empty this into the hindgut, from where it is eliminated along with the faecal matter. Additionally, cells called nephrocytes and the urecose glands (fat body) help store excretory substances.
Option (b): Walking on vertical surfaces
