Legacy is a bequest — money or property a Not-for-Profit Organisation (NPO) receives under a deceased person's will.

A Not-for-Profit Organisation such as a club, charitable trust, or hospital often receives funds from a variety of sources besides regular subscriptions — donations, grants, and legacies are common examples. A legacy is specifically an amount (or an asset) that the organisation becomes entitled to receive because a person has named the organisation in their will, and the amount is paid out of that person's estate after death.
