Social objectives are the obligations a business owes to society, distinct from its

purely economic (profit) or personal (employee) objectives.

Management pursues three broad categories of objectives: organisational/economic

objectives (survival, profit, growth), social objectives (benefits to society), and

personal objectives (goals of individual employees). Social objectives recognise

that a business operates within, and draws resources from, society, and therefore owes

it something in return. Examples of social objectives include:
