Esprit de corps is Fayol's principle of team spirit — management must foster unity and cooperation, not division, among employees.

Henri Fayol listed esprit de corps as the last of his 14 principles of management. The French phrase literally means 'spirit of the body' or 'team spirit'. Fayol believed that just as a chain is strong because its links are united, an organisation is strong when its members work together in harmony rather than being divided into competing factions.
