3000 Å = 300 nm falls in the ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum, just short of visible light.

The electromagnetic spectrum is ordered by wavelength: gamma rays < X-rays < ultraviolet (UV) < visible light < infrared < microwaves < radio waves. Visible light spans roughly 4000 Å to 7000 Å (400–700 nm). Ultraviolet radiation lies just below this, in the range of about 100 Å to 4000 Å (10–400 nm) depending on the classification used.
