Mirror formula gives v = +7.2 cm: a virtual, erect, diminished image 7.2 cm behind the convex mirror.

Sign convention (distances measured from the pole, direction of incident light positive... using the common convention where u is negative for a real object and f is positive for a convex mirror):

u = -12 cm, f = +18 cm.

Mirror formula:

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

1/v = 1/f - 1/u = 1/18 - 1/(-12) = 1/18 + 1/12.

LCM 36: 1/v = 2/36 + 3/36 = 5/36, so

v = 36/5 = +7.2 cm.
