Distinction between Reserve Capital and Capital Reserve (any four):

  1. MEANING - Reserve Capital is that part of the UNCALLED share capital which the company resolves to call up only at the time of winding up. Capital Reserve is a reserve created out of CAPITAL PROFITS.
  2. SOURCE/CREATION - Reserve Capital is created out of uncalled capital by passing a SPECIAL RESOLUTION. Capital Reserve is created out of capital profits (e.g. profit on reissue of forfeited shares, profit on sale of fixed assets).
