Nested IF checks each band from top; copy the formula down for all 1,500 rows. (Computer Applications — out of current syllabus.)

The grading rule: 100 -> A; 80 to <100 -> B; 60 to <80 -> C; 40 to <60 -> D; 20 to <40 -> E; <20 -> F.

Using a nested IF function (marks assumed in cell A2):

=IF(A2=100,"A",IF(A2>=80,"B",IF(A2>=60,"C",IF(A2>=40,"D",IF(A2>=20,"E","F")))))

Copy this formula down the whole column for all 1,500 students.
