Revaluation profit 1,450; capitals R 67,470, S 44,980, Sanjeev 30,000; Balance Sheet totals 1,83,650.

Revaluation Account:

Losses: Stock down 16% of 20,000 = 3,200; Furniture down 20% of 4,000 = 800; Provision on debtors 5% of 47,000 = 2,350; Claim for damages 1,200. Total loss items = 7,550.

Gain: Land & Building up 20% of 45,000 = 9,000.

Revaluation Profit = 9,000 - 7,550 = 1,450, shared 3:2 -> Ranjiv 870, Simran 580.

Goodwill: Sanjeev brings 10,000, credited to old partners in sacrificing (old) ratio 3:2 -> Ranjiv 6,000, Simran 4,000. Half of 10,000 (5,000) withdrawn -> Ranjiv 3,000, Simran 2,000.

Reserve Fund 6,000 distributed 3:2 -> Ranjiv 3,600, Simran 2,400.

Partners' Capital Accounts:

  • Ranjiv: 60,000 + Reserve 3,600 + Goodwill 6,000 + Reval 870 - Goodwill withdrawn 3,000 = 67,470
  • Simran: 40,000 + Reserve 2,400 + Goodwill 4,000 + Reval 580 - Goodwill withdrawn 2,000 = 44,980
