Calls-in-advance is the amount paid by a shareholder before the company has actually made the call; under Table F the company pays interest on it at up to 12% p.a.

When a shareholder pays, along with the allotment or an early call, an amount in respect of calls that the company has not yet made, the excess is called calls-in-advance. It is a liability of the company (shown separately under current liabilities / other liabilities) and is not treated as part of called-up capital until the call is actually made.
