General Reserve is distributed in the old profit-sharing ratio among all partners including the deceased.

A General Reserve represents undistributed past profits earned while all the partners (including the one who has died) were together. On the death of a partner it is therefore credited to every partner's capital/current account in the old ratio, so that the deceased partner's estate gets a rightful share of past profits.
