Current assets are short-term assets convertible into cash within a year/operating cycle; examples include cash, debtors, stock and bills receivable.

Current assets are those assets of an enterprise which are held for a short period and, in the normal course of business, are expected to be converted into cash within one year or within one operating cycle. They keep changing form (cash → stock → debtors → cash) during operations and are used to meet the day-to-day working-capital needs of the business.
