[CoF6]^3- has Co^3+ (d6) with the weak field F- ligand forming a high-spin, sp3d2-hybridised, octahedral, paramagnetic complex.

Oxidation state: the overall complex ion charge is -3; each of the 6 F- ligands carries -1 charge, contributing -6. If x is the oxidation state of Co: x + 6(-1) = -3, so x = +3. Co^3+ has the electronic configuration [Ar] 3d^6.

Hybridisation & geometry (Valence Bond Theory): F- is a weak-field ligand (low in the spectrochemical series), so it cannot force pairing of the 3d electrons. The complex is therefore an outer-orbital (high-spin) complex — the 3d orbitals are left with their unpaired electrons, and the empty 4s, 4p and outer 4d orbitals hybridise as sp3d2 to accommodate the six F- ligands, giving an octahedral geometry.
