A Bank Reconciliation Statement is a periodic statement that reconciles the cash book's bank balance with the pass book's balance on a given date by listing every transaction recorded in one book but not yet in the other.

Meaning of BRS

This is a core TS Inter 1st-year Accountancy topic, aligned with the NCERT/CBSE treatment of bank reconciliation. A business keeps its own record of bank transactions in the cash book, while the bank keeps its own record in the pass book (or bank statement).
