The nature of management is best explained through its core characteristics: goal-oriented, pervasive, multidimensional, a continuous process, a group activity, dynamic, and an intangible force.

Group activity: Management is relevant only to a group of people working together towards a common purpose — a single individual cannot be 'managed'.
