(a)/(b) Sols are named by their dispersion medium: 'alcosol' = medium is alcohol, 'aerosol' = medium is a gas. OR: Hardy-Schulze rule says the coagulating ability of an ion rises sharply with its charge (and it must carry the opposite charge to the sol particles).
