Calls-in-arrear = called-up amount not yet received from shareholders.

When a company makes a call and some shareholders fail to pay the amount due on the due date, the total unpaid amount is known as calls-in-arrear. It represents money the company is entitled to but has not received, and is shown by way of deduction from the called-up/subscribed capital in the Notes on Share Capital. Interest (up to 10% p.a. under Table F) may be charged on it.
