Write the equation of the line through QQ with slope 11, find its intersection PP with the given line, then use the distance formula.

The line through Q(−3,5)Q(-3,5) with slope 11 is

y−5=1⋅(x+3)  ⟹  y=x+8y - 5 = 1\cdot(x+3) \implies y = x+8

To find PP, intersect this with x+y−6=0x+y-6=0:

x+(x+8)−6=0  ⟹  2x+2=0  ⟹  x=−1x + (x+8) - 6 = 0 \implies 2x+2=0 \implies x=-1

y=x+8=−1+8=7y = x+8 = -1+8 = 7
