The transformer ratio relates secondary-to-primary turns (and voltages) of a transformer.

A transformer has a primary coil of Np turns and a secondary coil of Ns turns wound on a common laminated iron core. Since the same changing magnetic flux links both coils, the emf induced per turn is the same in both, so the ratio of secondary emf (Vs) to primary emf (Vp) equals the ratio of the number of turns:

Vs/Vp = Ns/Np = K
