Yes; interference and diffraction only redistribute light energy from dark regions into bright regions, keeping the total energy constant.

A common misconception is that at points of destructive interference (dark fringes) light energy is destroyed, and at points of constructive interference (bright fringes) energy is created. This would violate conservation of energy, but it does not actually happen.

At a bright fringe the two waves arrive in phase, so amplitudes add and the intensity there is greater than the simple sum of the individual intensities. At a dark fringe the waves arrive out of phase, cancel, and the intensity is less than the sum (ideally zero). When we average the intensity over the whole pattern, the extra energy appearing at the bright fringes is exactly balanced by the energy missing at the dark fringes.
