Increasing electron affinity order for the halogens: I2 < Br2 < F2 < Cl2.

Electron affinity generally tends to increase up a group (as atomic size decreases and nuclear attraction on the incoming electron strengthens) — so within the halogens, the naive expectation would be F > Cl > Br > I. However, fluorine is an exception: its atomic size is so small that the incoming electron experiences significant electron–electron repulsion within the already compact and electron-dense 2p subshell, which reduces the energy released and lowers fluorine's electron affinity below chlorine's.
