Triangle law: two vectors as two sides of a triangle (in order) give a resultant equal to the closing third side (in reverse order).

The triangle law of vector addition states: if two vectors are represented, both in magnitude and direction, by the two sides of a triangle taken in the same order (head of the first joined to the tail of the second), then their resultant is represented, in magnitude and direction, by the third side of the triangle taken in the opposite order (from the tail of the first to the head of the second).

In symbols, if vector A is one side and vector B is the next side taken head-to-tail, the resultant R = A + B is the closing side drawn from the start of A to the end of B.
