Debits to a deceased partner's capital account: drawings, interest on drawings, his share of losses (ordinary and on revaluation), and the final balance transferred to his executor's account.

The capital account of a deceased partner is settled by recording, on its debit side, all items that reduce the amount owed to him. The main items debited are:

  1. His drawings made up to the date of death.
  2. Interest on his drawings.
  3. His share of loss — i.e. his share of the Profit and Loss (Suspense) loss up to the date of death, his share of any accumulated losses, and his share of loss on revaluation of assets and liabilities.
  4. His share of goodwill written off, if applicable.
