MTP is the medically induced, intentional termination of a pregnancy before full term (induced abortion), legalised in India under the MTP Act.

MTP stands for Medical Termination of Pregnancy, also called induced abortion. It is the deliberate, voluntary termination of a pregnancy before the foetus is capable of independent survival (before full term).
