2.1.1 Installing Pandas
Installing Pandas is very similar to installing NumPy. Both libraries are external to Python, meaning they are not part of the standard library that comes with a fresh Python installation. You must install them separately before you can import and use them in your programs.
The installation is done from the command line (also called the terminal or command prompt, depending on your operating system). Once you have Python already installed on your system, you simply type the following command and press Enter:
pip install pandas
This command tells Python's package installer, pip, to download and set up the Pandas library on your computer. The same pip tool is used to install most Python libraries.
Both NumPy and Pandas can be installed only when Python is already installed on that system. The same rule holds true for every other Python library — you must have Python first, then you can add libraries on top of it. …
