Income method gives ₹84,800 crore and expenditure method ₹80,800 crore; the two should be equal and differ only because the paper's figures are not internally consistent.

Income method — add up all factor incomes to get net domestic product at factor cost, then add depreciation and net income from abroad:

NDP(fc) = Wages + Rent + Interest + Profit = 45,000 + 8,000 + 9,000 + 18,000 = ₹80,000 crore.

GDP(fc) = NDP(fc) + Depreciation = 80,000 + 800 = ₹80,800 crore.

GNP(fc) = GDP(fc) + Net (factor income) investment from abroad = 80,800 + 4,000 = ₹84,800 crore.

Expenditure method — add up final expenditures:

GDP = Domestic consumption + Gross domestic investment = 60,000 + 16,800 = ₹76,800 crore.

GNP = GDP + Net foreign investment = 76,800 + 4,000 = ₹80,800 crore.
