Use the principal-value range of cosec−1\mathrm{cosec}^{-1}, which is [−π2,π2]−{0}\left[-\dfrac{\pi}{2},\dfrac{\pi}{2}\right]-\{0\}, and the odd-function property cosec−1(−x)=−cosec−1(x)\mathrm{cosec}^{-1}(-x)=-\mathrm{cosec}^{-1}(x).

We know cosec(π6)=1sin⁡(π/6)=11/2=2\mathrm{cosec}\left(\dfrac{\pi}{6}\right) = \dfrac{1}{\sin(\pi/6)} = \dfrac{1}{1/2} = 2, so cosec−1(2)=π6\mathrm{cosec}^{-1}(2) = \dfrac{\pi}{6}, which lies in the principal range.
