The human urinary (excretory) system comprises a pair of kidneys, a pair of ureters, a single urinary bladder, and a single urethra — described below in the order urine travels, in place of a hand-drawn diagram.

A textual, well-labelled description of the human urinary system (in place of a drawing, since only text can be produced here):

  1. Kidneys (a pair): bean-shaped organs situated on either side of the vertebral column, in the abdominal region, between the levels of the last thoracic and third lumbar vertebra; the left kidney is usually slightly higher than the right. Each kidney has a concave medial side (the hilum, where the renal artery enters and the renal vein and ureter leave) and a convex lateral side. Internally, each kidney shows an outer cortex and an inner medulla made of medullary pyramids; the funnel-shaped pelvis collects urine from the pyramids.
  2. Renal artery and renal vein: bring blood to and from each kidney (shown entering/leaving at the hilum) — blood is filtered here to form urine.
  3. Ureters (a pair): thin muscular tubes, one from each kidney's pelvis, running down to the urinary bladder, carrying urine by peristaltic contractions. …
