Sacrificing ratio is the ratio in which existing partners give up part of their profit share for a new partner (used at admission); it equals Old Share − New Share. Gaining ratio is the ratio in which continuing partners take over an outgoing partner's share (used at retirement/death); it equals New Share − Old Share.
