The stomatal apparatus is made up of the stomatal pore, the guard cells that border it, and the subsidiary cells that surround the guard cells.

Stomata are minute pores found mainly in the epidermis of leaves, each surrounded by specialised cells. Together, these components form the stomatal apparatus:
