The Consumer Protection Act grants consumers six rights, from the right to safety to the right to consumer education.

Rights of consumers:

  1. Right to Safety: protection against goods and services that are hazardous to life and property.
  2. Right to be Informed: the right to have complete information about the quality, quantity, purity, standard and price of goods/services, so as to protect against unfair/misleading trade practices.
  3. Right to Choose: the right to be assured, wherever possible, access to a variety of goods and services at competitive prices, free from unfair/restrictive trade practices.
