Both terms describe the same half-cell's tendency to undergo electron transfer, just viewed from opposite directions - oxidation potential for the tendency to lose electrons, reduction potential for the tendency to gain them.

Reduction potential: the tendency of a species/electrode to be reduced, i.e. to gain electrons, measured relative to the standard hydrogen electrode (taken as 0 V) under standard conditions. A higher (more positive) standard reduction potential means a greater tendency to get reduced (to gain electrons), i.e. the species is a stronger oxidising agent.

Oxidation potential: the tendency of the same species/electrode to be oxidised, i.e. to lose electrons. It is defined as the negative of the reduction potential for the same half-reaction: E°(oxidation) = -E°(reduction).
