Sampling error is the difference between a sample estimate and the true population value, caused by studying only a part (sample) of the whole population; larger, well-chosen samples reduce it.

In the Collection of Data chapter of Karnataka 1st PUC Statistics for Economics, we often study a sample (a representative part of the population) rather than surveying the whole population.
