Integrating a = dv/dt and v = ds/dt for constant acceleration a gives the three standard equations of motion: v = u+at, s = ut + (1/2)at^2, v^2 = u^2+2as.

First equation of motion:

Acceleration a = dv/dt (constant). So dv = a dt.

Integrating both sides from t=0 (v=u) to time t (velocity v):

Integral of dv from u to v = Integral of a dt from 0 to t

v - u = at, i.e. v = u + at ... (1)

Second equation of motion:

v = ds/dt = u + at, so ds = (u + at) dt.

Integrating both sides from t=0 (s=0) to time t (displacement s):

Integral of ds from 0 to s = Integral of (u+at) dt from 0 to t

s = ut + (1/2)at^2 ... (2)

Third equation of motion:

a = v dv/ds (using chain rule, since a = dv/dt = (dv/ds)(ds/dt) = v dv/ds). …
