Work-energy theorem: W(net) = Delta KE = (1/2)mv^2 - (1/2)mu^2.

Consider a body of mass m moving with initial velocity u. A net force F acts on it over a displacement s, producing a final velocity v.

Using v^2 = u^2 + 2as, we get a = (v^2-u^2)/(2s).

Work done, W = F.s = (ma)s = m * (v^2-u^2)/(2s) * s = (1/2)m(v^2-u^2) = (1/2)mv^2 - (1/2)mu^2.
