Kinds of Cells

Based on how their cells are organised, all living organisms fall into two broad groups: the Prokaryotes and the Eukaryotes. Prokaryotic cells have a comparatively simple cellular organisation, lacking a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles, while eukaryotic cells show a much higher degree of internal organisation, with a defined nucleus and a variety of membrane-bound organelles carrying out specialised jobs.
