By the geometric-mean property, r=±byx⋅bxyr=\pm\sqrt{b_{yx}\cdot b_{xy}}. The product is

byx⋅bxy=(−0.9)×(−0.4)=0.36,b_{yx}\cdot b_{xy}=(-0.9)\times(-0.4)=0.36,

so 0.36=0.6\sqrt{0.36}=0.6. Now the sign: by Property 1 the regression coefficients and rr always share the same sign, and here both coefficients are negative, so
